Kaua`i United Way 

Since 1943, Kaua`i United Way (KUW) has served as our island's umbrella charitable organization, bringing people together to strengthen our community and improve lives across Kaua`i. 

Through workplace giving campaigns, KUW raises funds while educating residents about local social service needs, the programs available to address them, and the importance of community involvement. Our dedicated volunteers carefully assess the social service needs of Kaua`i each year and allocate funding where it will have the greatest impact throughout our island community. 

This thoughtful process allows KUW to maintain support for ongoing needs while remaining flexible enough to respond to emerging challenges. Throughout the year, KUW staff and volunteers monitor funded agencies to ensure that donor contributions are used responsibly and that meaningful services remain available to the people of Kaua`i. 

Without Kaua`i United Way, hundreds of thousands of dollars for vital social services would go uncollected. KUW partner agencies provide a broad spectrum of services that address the needs of our entire island community, making life better for everyone who lives on or visits Kaua`i. 

These services generally fall into five key areas: 

• Disaster Recovery & Emergency Services 

• Disease Prevention & Health 

• Rehabilitation Services 

• Family Services 

• Youth Services & Problem Prevention Initiatives 

Each year, a KUW volunteer visits every funded agency. This monitoring process protects our donors' hard-earned dollars, ensures accountability, and helps KUW stay informed about issues affecting both our agencies and our community. Our partner agencies are carefully vetted and regularly monitored, providing assurance that donations made through KUW—or directly to any of our partner agencies—are used effectively and responsibly. 

Most importantly, every dollar distributed through Kaua`i United Way helps deliver critical services to individuals and families in need, strengthening our community and making Kaua`i a better place for all.
